Spring break is coming and that means my niece and her group of frozen, pale college friends will be coming down for some much needed sun. Anticipating their arrival, my sister has been on a mad hunt for new ways to lounge around the pool.
With Spring break around the corner, she was afraid of making a rushed purchase decision. Her main concern was maintenance so she was sure to choose outdoor furniture that will fair well in the harsh Florida rainy season. She narrowed her choices down to three affordable favorites.
First was the Amalfi Lounge Chair and matching ottoman. I wasn’t surprised since my sister has a taste for modern design. The simple, clean lines of the teak has a hint of zen. The plush cushions look extremely inviting and comfortable – perfect for cocktail hour around the pool.
Next was the Palm Coast Chaise Lounge, an ergonomic choice. Being a sun-worshiper myself, I am privy to laying down on a full chaise. The brushed metal frame and sturdy, natural tone chaise lounge is a perfect outdoor furniture piece – very comfortable and doesn’t require much maintenance. Another benefit of this model is that they are designed to be adjustable and stackable for easy storage. Something to consider since my sister didn’t want to leave them out all the time. Ding, ding! With ample space around the pool area, she could fit up to six chaise which would be more than enough for this particular group of guests.
The third option was the Pleasant Bay Chaise Lounge with wheels. True luxury resort, the adjustable backs and rolling wheels get you in perfect position no matter where the sun is – and the full length cushions look so chic.
We went through the pros and cons of each. The Amalfi lounge chair and ottoman is simple and beautiful but it doesn’t recline and young sun worshippers need to recline. The Pleasant Bay chaise reclines and stacks for easy storage but is more modern than her other furnishings. The Pleasant Bay Chaise has everything – wheels, custom cushions, teak frame. Only downside was she would need to occasionally hose off the cushions. After voicing my opinion, she decided on the Pleasant Bay Chaise Lounges with Chevron Beat Demin fabric cushions. Even though all three offered ways to customize the collection, in the end she chose the chaise that best matched her overall coastal style.
These new outdoor chaise will add a new air and enhance the resort look of the pool and hot tub. Though she has no intention of basking in the sun herself, she agreed that they were indeed a necessary addition for her family’s growing needs.
The order is in and will be delivered just in time for spring break. I’m definitely going to play hooky and lounge around with them!
